The Great British Spring Clean is back this month (15-31 March 2024) for its ninth year, bringing communities together for the nation’s biggest environmental campaign.
The Great British Spring Clean is organised by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, who are celebrating their landmark 70th year anniversary protecting the environment. They are more focused than ever to tackle local environmental damage from the ground up because they believe everyone has the right to love where they live.
Getting involved couldn’t be easier, simply pledge as an individual, a group or a school and update how many bags you pledge to pick up. There is also a fun #PlatinumPledge challenge to mark Keep Britain Tidy’s anniversary that involves picking 70 items, spending 70 minutes in nature litter-picking or picking 70 bags!
In 2023 #LitterHeroes pledged to pick up more than 400,000 bags of litter. Around 95% of people surveyed after 2023’s campaign agreed they felt they had made a difference to their local area and 91% said they felt part of a national movement that is taking action to tackle litter.
So, if you want to protect our wildlife and the places you love this spring, join the Great British Spring Clean and pledge to pick up a bag – or more.
