Stanley Black and Decker… Serious about Recycling

Having taken the decision to relocate the distribution and customer services departments of Stanley Black and Decker to Brackmills in Northampton, Leafield Environmental were approached to provide support and guidance for the installation of a structured and consolidated approach to recycling across the site.

It was hoped that with the introduction of appropriate recycling bins that offer a consistent method of collecting waste materials across the facility in a structured manner that it would stimulate staff and visitors to think before disposing of their waste… and encourage them to segregate recyclable items away from the general waste stream.

In order to handle the collection and segregation of the wide variety of waste, Meridian Envirobins were proposed as their combination lids and ability to handle up to three individual waste streams in a single bin was considered to be the simplest solution. Paper, plastic, paper cups, plastic cups, confidential waste and general waste are all accommodated in various different combinations.

These were complemented with numerous 332litre Envirotrucks for the segregation of used shrink-wrap and cardboard in larger volumes, along with Delta Standing Ashtray Towers for the smoking areas.

The complete installation comprises more than 90 bins, clearly demonstrating some Stanley Black and Decker’s commitment to recycling and the sustainable economy.
